For the past 4 years, GRITSY has utilized several great spaces.
None of them have captured everyone's attention such as the Roof Bar.
We've also never had a chance to say a proper goodbye, until now.
The Roof Bar is closing it's doors & GRITSY is throwing the party!
So on Valentine's weekend join us, an inflatable monkey, TWENTY 18" subwoofers,
and several hundred lovers of BASS, as GRITSY says goodbye to the Roof Bar!
Add our the Gritsy fan page & find out where we'll be next!
http://www.facebook.com/GritsyIf you’re not in tune w/ the Gritsy movement, here's a little background
by Karma Houston's very own John Tran [Kung Fu Pimp]:
Imagine the 1st time you went to a club, heard a completely different type
of music than from the radio & being instantly hooked!
Add a fine tuned soundsystem, colorfully designed flyers, sexy lights, sexy beats,
great DJs, an avid crowd & you have GRITSY!
Still trying to figure out what DUBSTEP & GRITSY is all about? READ ON!
Here is a definition of dubstep according to our good friend, Joe Nice,
the stateside's #1 selector [dj], of the dubstep sound:
Deep in the heart of South London's underground lies a sound that percolates
in the streets and vibrates the speakers...dubstep is the soundtrack.
A vibe that rests on the edge of relaxation and explosion, that flourishes
in the middle ground of the comfortable sounds of soulful house and the unbridled energy of drum & bass.
Music made in London -- forged from multicultural influences, syncopated rhythms and loads of bass.
SO WHAT IS GRITSY?!?!?
SO WHAT IS GRITSY?!?!?
SO WHAT IS GRITSY?!?!?
GRITSY, the party that first brought the dubstep sound to H-town, is just a straight up PARTY
with a wonderfully enthusiastic crowd, great djs/selectors, and a soundsystem that'll make your body SHAKE
with some serious BASS!
It's only getting bigger & better, so if you haven't joined Houston's infamous dubstep
party and movement or heard about it yet...
Saturday, February 13th, 2010...
